The fortresses and the palaces of Tuscia

CITY OF ORIGIN - VALENTANO - CAPODIMONTE - MARTA
Departure from the city of origin and arrival to the Lake Bolsena. Meeting with the tourist guide and walk in the village of Capodimonte, nestled on the shores of the lake, where you can visit the splendid Farnese castle designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger.
The tour continues to the medieval village of Valentano. The stroll goes around the narrow streets and squares until you reach the imposing Farnese Fortress. Here you can visit its magnificent architecture, the courtyard of love, the tower, the gallery of Pope Paul III and the museum rooms, discovering the archeological findings of the area and the ancient ceramics hidden in the castle.

MARTA - BOLSENA - MONTEFIASCONE - MARTA
Breakfast at hotel and departure to the lakeside town of Bolsena, the birthplace of Santa Cristina. Here we visit the medieval village with its typical narrow streets and the basilica of S. Christina, excellent example of Romanesque architecture with subsequent stylistic overlap. Finally you reach the top of the city dominated by the Monaldeschi Fortress tower that has an incredible view of the lake.
Lunch at restaurant.
Visit of Montefiascone in the afternoon. The village, which lies on a volcanic cone off, offers from its 600 meters above the sea level, a view of rare beauty on the waters and islands of the lake. The walk leads you to discover the fortress of the Popes, the Cathedral of St. Catherine and the mysterious and strange church of S. Flavian.

MARTA - CAPRAROLA - VITERBO - CITTA' DI PROVENIENZA
Breakfast at hotel and departure for Caprarola. Guided tour of the splendid Farnese Palace. The Palace is one of the pearls and one of Italian Renaissance masterpieces of the great artist Jacopo Barozzo da Vignola. After the visit inside the palace, rich in frescoed halls with historical, astronomical and allegorical paintings, the tour continues with the visit to the outdoor gardens.
